Bali is a place full of wonderful and interesting places to visit. With boundless local secrets from restaurants to temples, natural springs, waterfalls, and the islands dormant volcano. Half the battle is finding out where to go, the other half is finding a way to get there. Fear not! it is no where near as difficult as you would think. With majority of the Balinese speaking english as their second language, there is little trouble with any form of language barrier.

My first tip would be to use
blue bird taxi's to get around locally, they are very easy to find in Kuta and busy parts of Bali. They are the most reliable taxi company, the taxi's are always clean and airconditioned, and they always have the meter running. This way you are sure to get a fair price and they will not try and rip you off when you get to your destination. Make sure the taxi you hail is in fact a
blue bird, because there are a few fake companies on the road. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just make sure you request they run the meter or settle on a price you are happy with before you take off.
If you want to go a long distance my suggestion would be to hire a driver for the day. This way you will save money because the price can get quite high. You can get yourself a driver for around 400,000-450,000 RP the equivilent of around $50 AU. You will not have any trouble finding a driver in Bali, they are on every corner, and in every hotel car park, generally driving a white mini bus.
If you are planning on doing some shopping outside of Kuta, which i thoroughly recommend you do if you want to find some true bargains, then hiring a driver for the day is a good idea because it can be diffcult to get a taxi in some of the quieter areas.
If you're searching for stone statues for the garden Batubulan is the place to go. With a wide range of manufacturers and sellers. You can easily import them back to perth from Bali through Bali Home Furnishings. A perth based company that imports goods from Bali.

For Beautifully crafted furniture visit Kerobokan, you probably recognise the name because it is the location of Bali's Prison. Don't let that deter you, as there are beautiful treasures to be found, located in quaint little stores in the small streets of the emerging area.
